My mission with this blog is simply to re-mind all Americans that our great country and all the greatness that came from it in the past came from capitalism and not socialism. I have to speak up because as Popeye said “I’ve had all I can stand, I can’t stands no more!” Our great country IS headed for socialism. Need proof?
Let’s see what the Federal Government has recently taken control over:
- Health care (Yes they will have complete control soon enough – One payer system is coming. As more and more is revealed about this law there is reason for deep concern)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gFC3kVZTCk&feature=related - Student Loans (End game – Education control)
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704187204575101663745849200.html - General Motors
http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=49007 - Chrysler Corporation
http://247wallst.com/2008/10/16/gm-gm-deal-to-t/ - Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (Oh by the way…Republicans tried to warn us in the mid 2000’s and the Democrats said there were no issues)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebWJ892h5dA&feature=PlayList&p=C5B84FD5EDBF862F&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=53
Let’s see what they want to take control of:
- The financial sector (After health care reform and financial reform takes place the government will control 60% of our economy. Sounds like Socialism to me)
http://www.getliberty.org/files/FinancialTakeoverBackgrounder.pdf - The energy sector (Cap and trade – We cannot afford this right now in our current economy. It would be devastating)
CapTrade
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FrE7ndkSwY&feature=related - 401K plans (Have government hold on to our money? Not!)
http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/3879307/government-takeover-of-401k - IRA’s
http://www.senseoncents.com/2010/01/blueprint-for-government-takeover-of-iras/ - The internet (In the name of protecting it and providing better service? Right!)
http://dailycaller.com/2010/05/07/obama-fcc-to-attempt-government-takeover-of-the-internet/ - Marketing food (Sure thing Mommy – Where does it stop?)

Let’s see what they have done well with:
- Social Security (Nope)
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/25/business/economy/25social.html - Medicare (Nope)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/05/01/AR2006050101448.html - Medicaid (Nope)
http://www.massmed.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=MMS_Forum26&TEMPLATE=/CM/ContentDisplay.cfm&CONTENTID=8108 - Postal system (Nope)
http://www.nydailynews.com/money/2009/03/25/2009-03-25_us_postal_service_going_broke_says_postm.html - VA Hospitals (Nope)
http://www.publicintegrity.org/investigations/broken_government/articles/entry/1041/
Let’s see what else they would like to have:
- VAT tax
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100421/ap_on_bi_ge/us_obama_tax - National ID Card (See what’s wrong with that)
http://news.cnet.com/2010-7348_3-6180835.html - Adjust mortgage interest tax deduction
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2531438/posts - Higher taxes in general
http://personalfinancebythebook.com/upcoming-tax-changes-and-what-they-mean-to-you/ - New bank tax (Who do you think will pay for this in the end?)
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100420/ap_on_bi_ge/us_bank_tax - Media control (Talk about breaking our first amendment rights-It’s just the beginning)
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2010/06/federal-trade-commission-free-press.html - Debit card fees (Again, who do you think will pay for this?)
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2010/06/04/dana-perino-dick-durbin-senate-amendment-federal-reserve/#content - Tax on electronics (Where does it stop?)

What’s the scariest thing you could possibly hear? “I’m from the Federal Government and I’m here to help”.
Now, you can say that the government had to step in and take over some of those entities to keep them from failing but there are times when companies fail, people fail and they should fail as a natural course of economics. Some will rise and some will fall as they always have and always will. Bail outs are temporary as they are not getting to the bottom of the problem therefore all the money they have thrown around in the name of saving the economy is only delaying the inevitable. It’s like putting a band aid on a shotgun wound. You can say “well they need to implement new ways of generating revenue to operate the country on” but why don’t they just cut spending instead? They’re like junkies. They’ll never stop. They’ll never cut themselves off. They will raise taxes in many different ways, spend it all and keep coming back for more in the future. If your personal income drops and you don’t have enough money to cover your budget for an extended period of time, what do you do? Cut spending! What happens if you don’t cut spending? Bankruptcy! Nothing is worth having the government take over our lives. Socialism whether intentional or not is still socialism.
Liberalism leads to socialism which eventually leads to communism. I dare you to name one single country in the history of the world whereby the majority of the people really prospered with a socialistic-communistic political and economical system. I bet you can’t find one. As a matter of fact most of them have lethargic economies and chronically high unemployment at best and in some cases eventually collapse. As a matter of fact 100 million people died in the 20th century due to communism. Now I know that’s an extreme example but look at the contrast. When you find motivated citizens in those countries they want to come to America, the land of opportunity (Capitalism) not the land of big government (Socialism). They are leaving to escape that. Gee, can anyone tell me why people originally left Europe to find a new life? They jumped on wooden ships and headed out across the ocean not fully knowing how things were going to turn out. They just wanted freedom. Just ask any legal immigrant who has come to America and they will tell you that we are headed down the wrong road. What a statement it is to the people who had the guts to come here originally, to fight in wars, to get wounded or killed if we allow our country to slip away into socialism.
Question: Does trickledown economics work? The answer is both yes and no. Trickledown economics does work but NOT when it trickles down from the government. It does work when it trickles down from the wealthy people and wealthy companies of the country. Government does not create jobs. Well, actually they do and they are but they will go broke in the process because they will run out of other people’s money. Poor people do not create jobs. Wealthy people and wealthy companies do. What comes from jobs? Taxes which the government needs. Is it really that difficult to understand?
Another question: Do more people get served in a socialistic-communistic system or in a Capitalistic-Free Market system? Well, simply look at the history of the United States of America vs. any other country in the world. Even within our own country simply compare the economical condition of the state of California (Liberal and broke) vs. Texas (Capitalistic/Conservative and doing well in a poor economy). I think it’s quite obvious. Look at the country of Greece. One fifth of the population works for the government and they are broke. Socialism has never worked and never will. It is a nice utopian thought to have all citizens served and taken care of but not at the expense of everyone’s freedom. In a socialistic-communistic system only a few get to prosper. The political leaders and their cronies. As a matter of fact even the socialist-communist leaders don’t live by their own system. They live like kings while they force the people to live by their screwed up ideas. A good example is Al Gore living in his new $9,000,000 home, flying around in his private jet and making $100,000,000 per year off of supposed global warming while preaching to us to conserve. Great example there Al! Sorry, I told myself I’d stay away for sarcasm but that one is too easy.
Look, we all want the same things in life such as a good job, a nice home in a nice neighborhood, good schools for our children, good food, nice cars, vacations, nice clothing, love, appreciation, money, respect, personal power and freedom. Well here’s an alert for you……no government will ever supply those things and it makes no difference who’s in charge. Big government never works. If you want success you’ll have to get up and go for it.
Thank God for the resistance that is taking place right now in our country or we would already be a full blown socialist country in the short period of time that the current administration has been in office. When they said they would fundamentally change America they meant it. We don’t need that kind of change. What happens in the next midterm election (November 2010) will determine what direction we turn. Back to freedom and capitalism or towards bigger government, higher taxes, higher unemployment, bad economy and socialism. Our economy will not get better until there is major change in our leadership. Until we get leadership that cuts spending, lowers taxes and instills confidence in the American people nothing will change.
Some will read this and say “I understand and agree” and some will read this and say “I don’t see it”. My suggestion for those who don’t see it is to wake up and pay closer attention. If all or some of the above information is news to you that means that you are either not paying attention or you are only paying attention to the main stream media. The main stream media does not cover anything that is detrimental to the current administration. They endorsed them from the beginning and now have to defend their position. I’d suggest you broaden your viewing and listening to FOX News and people like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly and others like them. Perhaps you are a busy person. If you don’t have the time you should make time. Perhaps you don’t like the controversy. If you can’t stomach it then you better toughen up. Perhaps you’ve made your mind up and don’t want it to be changed. If you enjoy freedom in all areas of your life you better step up, start paying attention and get involved. Don’t be thinking “what can I do?” You have a voice and a vote and there is an election coming in November 2010.
It doesn’t matter who you are, rich or poor, black or white, green or pink, big or small, young or old, left or right, Democrat, Republican, Moderate or whatever you might classify yourself as. It doesn’t matter what you do for a living. It doesn’t matter if you were born and raised in America or whether you are a Legal Emigrant or an Illegal Alien. It doesn’t matter if you are making $1,000.00 per month or $1,000,000.00 per month. You don’t want what socialism has for you.
America, please don’t settle for mediocrity. Socialism is mediocrity at best and capitalism is success. No matter how you slice it, socialism whether intentional or by accident is still socialism. I’m sure there are people who know me who might read this and think “Wow, where did this come from?” I would say to them that I’m wide awake and that if you don’t see it you soon will. I just hope you don’t wake up too late. Even I had to question myself as to why I’m so upset. I came to the conclusion that it is because it doesn’t have to be this way. Personally I believe I will always find a way to succeed in life but I do care about other people inpsite of the fact that Liberals and Democrats try and portray Republicans and Tea Party people as greedy and uncaring. That’s B.S.!
One last thing - Notice that I did not mention the president’s name or others in the current administration. I did not slam the president or specific people in government. That’s because it doesn’t matter who is in office. It doesn’t matter what color they are or what sex they are. It’s all a matter of economics. Socialism never works pure and simple. If you believe it does then prove me wrong. Please point me to where it is working now or has worked in the past.
The following links are short videos about socialism. Below that are blog entries with pieces of information I’ve posted from the Internet and others are my own writing. At the bottom of each page is a link called “Older Entries” which leads to the next page. I’ll keep adding to the blog over a period of time. Any new posts will be below this initial article. Enjoy and post comments as you see fit and pass it on.
